New features including an up-dated calendar of events, your healing stories, a new podcast entitled “Energy Healing” courtesy of Beat The System a CIUT University of Toronto radio program, opportunities to participate in research, and the “Support Blog”; an on-line forum discussing current and relevant topics related to Energy Medicine, Spiritual Psychotherapy, Medical Intuition, and Practitioner Support.
As many of you know I am still pursuing studies in Practical Nursing. Therefore only a limited number of private sessions are available.
Since the beginning of my personal search, research, and study in the field, I discovered early on in my journey the importance discernment plays in both the acquisition of self-knowledge and when seeking mentors, teachers, practitioners, and guides to help facilitate that development. As an advocate for consumer protection I want to share with you a recent excerpt of guidelines extrapolated from a seminal book on the subject of medical intuition. De-Mystifying Medical Intuition by Lori Wilson, M.S.W. founder of Inner Access 101, internationally renowned medical intuitive and best-selling author of a well-respected reference guide for practitioners and laypeople alike. The book discusses important subjects such as consumer protection, energy ethics, as well as the 5-basic styles of medical intuition in an easy to read format recommended by pioneers in the field including Dr. Norm Shealy. I have had the fortune of participating in Lori’s Total Body Intuition™ program. Much of what I continue to integrate into my current practice derives from her teachings.
Here are a few guidelines, I have found helpful:
- How long have you been practicing?
- Are you certified? If so, with whom? How long have they been in operation? Do they have a website so I may read more about your training?
- Have you been formally trained for this or have you developed your skills on your own?
- Do you use a consent form? If so, how do I fill it out prior to our work?
- Do you work with other health professionals? If so, how do you network with them regarding shared clients?
- Do you offer healing recommendations? If so, from where are these recommendations coming: my body, a guide, your expertise or training?
- Where are you getting the information from? What is your source of wisdom? (i.e. use the 5 basic styles as basic frame of reference for discussion: psychically, channeled by guide(s), healer’s hits, maps, attending style, or another style altogether?)
